Bournemouth 2006 Critique

I found variation in size and proportions. Many were lacking in depth of body, and movement, especially in the rear, needs to improve and become more typical. Overall, coats and bone were good. I would also like to ask where have the nicely chiselled typical heads and beautiful expressions of the past disappeared?

PD (3 ) 1 Peach’s, Greyflax The Mighty Quinn To Kilbourne. A very nice outline. Good body for his age. Nice legs and good angulation. His skull should be more refined. Good movement. Nice coat texture but needs more of it. Best Puppy 2 Blackford and Morrissey’s, Lord Seafield of Hartvalley. I would prefer more length of body and a more refined skull. Nice topline. Needs to improve in the rear. Nice coat texture. 3 Owen and Brodie’s, Wolfscastle Finlay.

JD (1) 1 Meer’s, Lealla Kinrossie of Lordswell. Excellent size, elegant outline. The front needs more angulation and the rear needs to strengthen. Should move with free stride.

GD (4) 1 Edwards’, Kilbourne Vincent. Very nice outline, but should be more masculine. Nice carriage and holds his topline on the move. Once the handler and the dog come together, he should do better. 2 Gumbrill’s, Arvernien Arcturus. Up to size but sound, slightly coarse overall. Very nice hindquarters and good coat texture. Should hold his topline better and have tighter feet. 3. Llewellyn’s, Kilbourne Macallan.

PGD (7) 1 Owen and Brodie’s, Wolfscastle Wood Melick. Very nice balance and good length of body. Typical movement. Very nice body. Beautiful when standing and moving. 2 Cheshire’s, Neroche Hennessey Of Deeranwith. Good overall. Very nice head and good expression. Excellent body and legs. Well-angulated in front and rear, nice overall picture. 3 Edwards’, Kilbourne Vincent.

LD (11) 1 Helps’, Beardswood Marmion. Excellent size and type. Beautiful outline. Good body. Beautiful topline and nice quarters. Elegant side gait. 2 Bunce’s, Kilbourne Haldir at Pantawick. Would prefer a little more length of leg. Nice head type. Very good depth of body and spring of rib. A touch level in topline. Nice quarters. 3 Wiggans’, Killoeter Grilse.

OD (9) 1 Peach’s, Greyflax Myth To Kilbourne. A lovely specimen: elegant and well-balanced. Excellent body with good depth. Good legs and well-angulated. Excellent mover. Dog CC 2 Codd’s, Gazeawhile Lyric. Very eye-catching dog. Excellent body. Lovely when standing. Movement has to improve. Res CC. 3 Finnett and Harrington’s, Ch Hyndsight Wind Of Change.

PB (3) 1 Wilson’s, Killoeter Lurag For Hamiltonhill. A very nice bitch puppy. Lovely outline and shows promise. 2 Smith’s, Wolfscastle Fern. Nice in shape. Beautiful head and expression. Elegant topline. Hindquarters need to improve.

JB (4) 1 Peach’s, Pingleholl Ruby To Kilbourne. A well-balanced bitch with a nice outline. Very good body, good legs and nicely angulated. 2 Bunce’s, Lealla Kintra at Pantawick. Shorter in body than 1 but with a nice body and good legs. Should stand better behind. 3 Faircloth and Helps’, Beardswood Niamh.

GB (4) 1 Llewellyn’s, Kilbourne Rinda. Too fat, but nice outline. Very good front. Beautiful head. Good neck and nice silhouette, but should lose some weight. 2 Jarrett’s, Ashtonbrook Juno of Torffric. Should be more solid on her feet. Nice outline. I’d prefer a darker eye. Good bone. Well-angulated. Needs to improve in hind movement.

PGB (7) 1 Baileys’, Greyflax A Kind Of Magic JW. Beautiful bitch, a little up to size. Lovely movement. Well-bodied. Good bone and well-angulated. Good coat. 2 Shannon’s, Lealla Is Fearr. Elegant in her outline. Could be more alert on the move. Nice body. The muzzle needs to fill out. 3 Adams’, Hydfron Ula For Zandahar Sh.CM.

LB (14) 1 Helps’, Beardswood Morwenna. Beautiful bitch, full of quality. Nice in outline. Excellent legs and stands and moves well. Well-bodied. RCC. 2 Wragg’s, Neroche Halistra. A beautiful bitch. Lovely quality. Very good length of body and beautiful curved lines. Moved well. 3 Bailey’s, Greyflax Waterloo Sunset.

OB (7) 1 Finnet, Heathcote and Piggott’s, Ch Hyndsight Heaven Can Wait. An especially nice bitch. Beautiful head and excellent expression. An elegant neck and very good body in its depth and length. Well-angulated legs. Very typical movement. Bitch CC and BOB. 2 Bailey’s, Greyflax Guinevere. A very nice bitch full of quality. Very nicely chiselled head. Good legs. Not in full coat, and could be more solid behind. 3 Churchill’s, Lealla Huna.
